WINEMAKER’S NOTES:

Growing conditions in the spring were quite slow with cooler weather and lots of moisture delaying budbreak and slowing early spring growth. June was warmer, in fact we had some quite hot spells throughout the month giving great flowering conditions. by the end of the month we had caught up following the slow start. The rest of the summer was mainly sunny and warm with just enough moisture for steady development of the vines. September was cooler, but mainly sunny giving a great beginning to the harvest season. October was warmer with more moisture and humidity but in general conditions remained favorable. It was a really good year for the production of Riesling, the cooler temperatures allowed for slow ripening, developing amazing flavours and keeping the acid balanced without high sugar development.

Following harvest, the grapes were crushed, destemmed and pressed off immediately with minimal skin contact. Fermentation was slow keeping the flavours full and the wine pretty!

TASTING NOTES:

Colour is a very pale yellow with green hints, the nose is pretty with green apple and yellow plum and white floral notes

The palate is beautifully balanced with flavours of crunchy green and yellow apple, green plum and lots of citrus notes on the finish!!

This would pair amazingly with a charcuterie platter on a sunny afternoon. It would also pair well with Sushi!!
